University Housing at Georgia Southern University operates eight housing units providing a living-learning environment for approximately 5,000 students and offering a variety of facilities, services, and programs. In addition to providing reasonably priced housing, Georgia Southern University also strives to provide a positive environment conducive to the development and academic pursuits of its residents. Residence hall living provides social interaction and events to heighten a student's sense of belonging, understanding of others, and how to live with others in a common space. Included in learning experiences are floor meetings, social events, programs on life skills, communication and conflict management, wellness topics that support academic success and understanding others, leadership positions in hall government, and a completion of a roommate agreement. These experiences provide students the opportunity to grow, achieve, find autonomy, and practice decision-making. With a staff of more than 250 full-time and student employees, University Housing is committed to assisting students in making a smooth transition to college life.
