An introduction to the basic concepts, theories, techniques, and applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and cartography. Students will learn and apply GIS and cartographic concepts to gain extensive hands-on experience in thematic mapping and manipulation of georeferenced spatial information using GIS software.
