PHIN 7703 - Geographic Information Systems and Public Health Data Visualization for Evidence-Based Practice (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 This course will introduce students to geographic information systems (GIS) to map and spatially analyze public health and demographic data. Students will learn the fundamentals of the ArcMap software system and ways to integrate cartography into biomedical informatics practice. The course will also examine ethical issues and methods of analyzing demographic and spatial health patterns using GIS and demography analysis methods.
