The Graphic Design minor meets the needs of students who wish to complement their major degree program with the skills and knowledge in foundational principles, tools, concepts, and analysis of Graphic Design and to create effective graphic design and communication works.

Minor Program

Required Courses: 12 Credit Hours

ART 2020 - 2D: Digital Applications and Technology (0,3 Credit Hours)
Select three (3) credit hours from the following:
ART 2330 - Graphic Design: Typography and Imagery (3 Credit Hours)
ART 2331 - Graphic Design: Experience & Interactivity (3 Credit Hours)
Complete six (6) credit hours in the following:
ART 3323 - Graphic Design: Process & Methodology (3 Credit Hours)
ART 3377 - Graphic Design Art History (3 Credit Hours)

Elective Requirements: 3 Credit Hours

Select three (3) credit hours from any ART, ARTS, or ARTG Course at 3000 or higher.

Total Credit Hours: 15

Other Program Requirements

*Must earn a minimum grade of “C” in all ART and ARTS courses.

*Must successfully complete prerequisites for courses and take in proper sequence.

Advisement

Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
