Southern's Orientation, Advisement, and Registration (SOAR)
Once accepted for admission, all degree-seeking undergraduate students must attend Southern’s Orientation, Advisement, and Registration (SOAR). SOAR is a mandatory orientation program for new incoming students (freshmen and transfers) to assist with their transition to University life. At SOAR, students will receive information about how to success both in and outside of the classroom through sessions with faculty, staff, and current students. Family members are encouraged to attend SOAR. There is a fee for both students and guests to attend. Accepted students may complete an online reservation, linked from the SOAR website, GeorgiaSouthern.edu/orientation.
For fall semester enrollment, freshmen and transfers will select a SOAR session to attend during the months of June, July, and August. For more information about SOAR, contact New Student & Family Programs at (912) 478-SOAR, firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the website at GeorgiaSouthern.edu/orientation.
