CRJU 1100 - Introduction to Criminal Justice (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Provides an introduction and overview of the criminal justice system and its central components: police, courts, and corrections. Topics include: the history, development, and current status of law enforcement, the judiciary, and corrections in the U. S. ; the philosophical, economic, and socio political aspects of the criminal justice system and processes; individual rights and public order; an introduction to the juvenile justice system; theories of crime causation; and special issues such as drugs, mental health and public policy.
