CENG 5334G - Advanced Structural Steel Design (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Contact Hours: 0,3 Lab Contact Hours: 0,1 Develop skills in structural steel design and analysis beyond those taught in the basic steel design course. This course covers the behavior and design of advanced components used in steel structures, such as flexural members with slender webs (“plate girders”), composite beams, and beam-to-column connections and also framing systems for seismic design. Graduate students will be required to complete individual advanced level research in an area beyond the scope of the undergraduate requirements that demonstrates a higher level of mastery in the subject matter with additional required deliverables representative of graduate level work, as determined by the instructor.
