An in-depth examination of graphic design theory and design research. Students in this course will focus on the ways in which various theoretical and philosophical frameworks have affected graphic design since its inception as well as the similarities and differences between design-driven research and other forms of research. This will be accomplished through discussion and application of modern and postmodern theoretical and philosophical frameworks and design research methods.
