Theatre, B.A.

Location(s): Statesboro


Theatre majors are involved in the full production experience and become well-rounded theatre artists. Students in this program have opportunities in acting, design, dramaturgy, theatre-focused research and criticism, production management, technology, musical theatre, and video production. We are a hands-on program that creates a culture of engagement that unites theory and practice, extends the learning environment beyond the classroom, and develops an appreciation for the historical and contemporary global diversity of theatre and performance.

Other Program Requirements

  • Students must make a minimum grade of “C” in each Communication Arts class to receive credit for that course.
  • If a student tests out of FORL 2001 and/or 2002, the student will select 3-6 additional hours, as appropriate, and as approved by the advisor and the department.
  • Students must complete 21 upper division hours of THEA.

Advisement

Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
