Do you want to see an increase in the well-being and resilience of communities around the world? In today’s global world, we are facing complex problems and outcomes that have real impact on people - inequality, sustainability and climate change, and health and humanitarian crises to name a few. The BA in International Studies provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make positive change around the world.

Degree Requirements: 124 Credit Hours
The Bachelor of Arts program in International Studies is designed to provide students with a basic knowledge of world affairs and how they affect U.S. foreign and domestic policies. One of the main objectives of this program is to prepare students to cope realistically and intelligently with the changing world, a world that is becoming increasingly interdependent and in which vast new multiplications of cultural forces are emerging.

General Requirements (Core IMPACTS): 42 Credit Hours
Additional Requirements: 4 Credit Hours
Field of Study Requirements: 18 Credit Hours
Field of Study Elective: 12 Credit Hours
Choose four from the following: Major Requirements: 30 Credit Hours
International Studies Core: Major Electives: 15 Credit Hours
Choose five from the following: Minor: 15 Credit Hours
Students are encouraged to choose minor that complements their area of emphasis. General Electives: 15 Credit Hours
Select 15 credit hours of general electives or internship hours.
Advisement
Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
