Gerontology Interdisciplinary Minor

The interdisciplinary minor in gerontology is a 15 credit minor with a single required course, GERO/SOCI 2130 Introduction to Gerontology, and twelve additional credits that can be selected from five different disciplines. Up to three credit hours of independent study, internship or capstone project may be substituted into the minor if the internship/project has an aging-related focus, with permission of the minor program coordinator.

Minor Program Requirements: 3 Credit Hours
Minor Program Electives: 12 Credit Hours
An additional twelve semester hours of courses with a significant aging-related focus, in at least two different disciplines other than the major program of study, are required for the minor. Courses may be selected from the list of courses below. Other courses may be used in the minor if approved by the minor program coordinator. Advisement
Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors.
