- STAT XXXX Select 6-9 credit hours of any 3000-level or above STAT courses excluding STAT 3130
Total Credit Hours: 15
1 Probability MATH 3337 and Statistical Methods I STAT 5531 are required courses for the BS in Mathematics and cannot double count towards the Statistics Minor. Students seeking a Mathematics Major and Statistics Minor may substitute additional upper-level electives with the approval of the Department Chair in lieu of these courses.
Recommendations
Students are advised to take both of Statistical Inference (STAT 3338 ) and Statistical Methods I (STAT 5531 ) for basic knowledge in, respectively, statistical theory and application. Additionally, the content of the following math courses is helpful, but not required.
Advisement
Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
