The Associate of Sciences (AS) program at Georgia Southern University prepares students to transition to a baccalaureate program or career advancement in the physical and life sciences as well as in criminal justice, commerce and economics, health sciences, computer science, and information technology.

Degree Requirements: 64 Credit Hours

To qualify for the Associate of Science, a student must earn at least 25% of the credits required for the degree at Georgia Southern. * This program is offered through the Liberty and Online Campuses. General Requirements (Core IMPACTS): 42 Credit Hours
Additional Requirements: 4 Credit Hours
Field of Study Requirements: 18 Credit Hours
Select one of the following concentrations:
General CORE Concentration
Select 18 credit hours of courses at the 1000 or 2000 level. Students planning to work towards a baccalaureate degree should select courses that meet listed requirements of that degree program. Commerce and Economics Concentration
Computer Science Concentration
Students must complete one course from the list below
Student must also complete two courses from the list below:
Criminal Justice and Criminology Concentration
Students must also complete two courses from the list below
Information Technology Concentration
Health Sciences Concentration
If STAT is taken in Technology, Mathematics, and Sciences choose one of the courses below
STEM Concentration
- Techonolgy, Mathematics, and Sciences laboratory science sequence if not already taken. (0-8 credit hours.)
- Second Technology, Mathematics, and Sciences laboratory science sequence (8 credit hours.)
- Additional Math/Science/Technology courses at 1000 and 2000 level (2-10 credit hours.)
Total Credit Hours: 64
AdvisementUndergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
