Degree Requirements: 30 Credit Hours

The Professional MBA program equips leaders from diverse backgrounds with relevant skills for today’s highly disruptive business environment. Specifically, the program seeks to create organizational leaders who have strong analytical, technical, people, and leadership skills and who evaluate business decisions through the lens of ethics, integrity, and professionalism. Parker MBA students strengthen their existing competencies through a combination of class activities, teamwork, and an extensive program of extracurricular professional development activities designed to grow their professional network.

The MBA curriculum consists of thirty credit hours that can be completed in two different ways: the Savannah option or the Military-to-Business (M2B) option. Both options are hybrid, meaning that they blend online and face-to-face instruction. The Savannah option is available on the Armstrong campus, while the M2B option is designed for the military community and is offered at U.S. Army base Ft. Stewart, in the Army Education Center.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the MBA Program is competitive. The admissions committee looks at a variety of criteria that measure the candidate’s potential for being a successful graduate student and organizational leader. To apply, applicants must have:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution (Official transcripts from all credit-granting institutions attended must be submitted).
  • Resume detailing both work experience and education.
  • Essay describing applicant’s potential for success in the program.
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores (if applicant does not hold a degree from a program or university where English is the official language of instruction).
  • Completed application form.

Additional consideration is given to the following applicants:

  • Applicants with two or more years of meaningful work experience.
  • Applicants who possess an undergraduate business degree from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  • Applicants with service in any military branch, reserve unit, or National Guard (active, retired, or prior service; Form DD 214 #4 required).

Admission decisions are made shortly after a complete application has been received. Submit the application online at the College of Graduate Studies website.

Graduate Transfer, Transient, and CPL Credit

The Parker College of Business accepts graduate transfer or transient credit from AACSB accredited programs.  The college also accepts credits for prior learning (CPL) related to, for example, military service, work experience, and professional certifications.  All requests for these types of credit are subject to applicable university requirements and must be reviewed and approved by the MBA Program Advisor.

Military-to-Business MBA Requirements: 30 Credit Hours

The Military-to-Business MBA program seeks to transform the skills of military-connected students into a powerful toolkit for business leadership and economic development. The program recognizes and values the unique skills and experiences these students bring to the business world, such as leadership, teamwork, discipline, and resilience and equips them with the professional skills to succeed in today’s dynamic and highly competitive business environment.

Total Credit Hours: 30

Parker Graduate Academic Intervention Policy

Graduate business students who are placed on academic probation by the university will be placed on Academic Intervention by the Parker College of Business Graduate Programs Office until they are no longer on probation. Within 30 days of being notified by the Registrar’s office or Graduate School, the student must complete and submit the Parker Graduate Academic Improvement Plan (PGAIP) form to their program advisor. The form requires students to identify the top two factors contributing to their academic difficulty and then requires them to list two specific actions that they will take during the next semester to address those factors. Next, the form requires students to determine the actions that are required to return to good academic standing. The form is reviewed by the program advisor who will meet with the student if necessary. The student’s progress on the PGAIP will guide the program when reviewing an appeal for reinstatement if a student is placed on academic exclusion. Failure to complete the PGAIP form will weigh negatively toward the program’s decision to support a reinstatement appeal.

Advisement

Graduate students are advised by their program. Graduate students should reach out to their graduate program director for information regarding the structures in place to facilitate advisement. For more information visit Graduate Academic Advisement . Graduate students can also contact the Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate Studies for more information about their program director.
