Post-Master’s Certificate in Curriculum and Instruction

The certificate is a nine-hour course requirement that includes courses taught within the existing MEd in Curriculum and Instruction. Two courses will be taught by Valdosta State University and Columbus State University, respectively, and Georgia Southern faculty will teach the third required course. The certificate can be completed in two semesters (spring and summer) and requires field experience documentation. Teachers who are not currently teacher of record will be required to arrange extensive placement settings to complete the certificate.

Degree Requirements: 9 Credit Hours
The certificate in C&I is designed for those teachers currently holding a Master’s degree in C&I that is not recognized by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for advanced professional level certification. Admission Requirements
- Complete requirements for a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from a college or university accredited by an appropriate institutional accreditor.
- Present a cumulative 2.75 (4.0 scale) grade point average or higher on all undergraduate and graduate work combined.
