European Union Studies Interdisciplinary Minor


The certificate in European Union Studies is operated under the supervision of the European Council of the University System of Georgia with a cooperative agreement with the Department of History at Georgia Southern. The program is open to all institutions and students of the University System as well as to professionals with an undergraduate degree. The program’s purpose is to promote knowledge of the European Union (EU) and certify individuals as competent in the subject area of EU studies. It is a 15-credit program that includes a 3-credit introductory course, a 9-credit menu of course options, including study abroad in the European Union or internships with European companies, and a 3-credit capstone project or experience.

Minor Program


Required Course: 3 Credit Hours


NOTE: A 3.0 GPA in certificate courses is required. Courses may be taken in any order, but the capstone should be taken after a majority of courses have already been completed. EURO 3234   is crosslisted with HIST 3244 , POLS 3234 , and INTS 3234 , all of which satisfy the three-credit introductory requirement.

SABR courses can only come from programs within the European Union (including Wexford).  Internship courses must be approved by the History Department Internship Coordinator and involve a European company or organization.

Advisement

Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
