Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) Minor

The Child Advocacy Studies program will train students to understand the causes and consequences of exposure to child abuse and neglect. Students will also learn best practices in preventing and intervening in child maltreatment. At the end of the program, students will be able to translate child abuse and neglect research to policy and practices as well as identify jobs in the victim services sector.

Prerequisite Requirements
Minor Program Requirements
Please note that nine of the required 15 credit hours must be upper division credits. Students may count up to 6 credit hours of their major requirements (excluding Field of Study) toward the minor. Students also are limited to 6 credit hours of overlap with another minor. Required Courses: 9 Credit Hours
Elective Courses: 6 Credit Hours
Select 6 credit hours from the following: Total Credit Hours: 15
Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
