- Attain admission to Georgia Southern University.
- Declared Interior Architecture and Design as a major. If a student is a declared major in another area, and does not want to be a double major, they must complete the change of major form online. This form will initiate the process for getting a student’s current Advisement records and folder sent to the CBSS advising center.
First semester, or as soon as possible, take INDS 2430 - Design Appreciation (3 Credit Hours) with a minimum grade of “C” and one of the following required Field of Study ART courses with a minimum grade of “C”:

Students transferring in from other schools are required to have their portfolio and transcript(s) evaluated by the Program Coordinator who is responsible for determining which design courses remain to be taken and which design courses are eligible to receive transfer credit hour. Adequate time must be allowed for scheduling, review and notification. Please contact the Program Coordinator to schedule an appointment. All transfer credits must be evaluated by the Undergraduate Office of Admissions and posted on the Georgia Southern transcript upon official acceptance to the University.
Students must complete the courses in sequence with all prerequisites and corequisites. If a course is dropped or failed, then the student will be out of sequence and graduation will be delayed.
NOTE: Students transferring or not passing required courses may not be able to graduate within the traditional four-year period.
Advisement
Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students in the major are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor due to the complicated nature of the curriculum and should reference the program map and graduation plan for registration (see program website). For more information visit the Academic Advisement catalog page.
