¹ Probability MATH 3337  and Statistical Methods I STAT 5531  are required courses for the BS in Mathematics and cannot double count towards the Statistics Minor. Students seeking a Mathematics Major and Statistics Minor may substitute additional upper-level electives with the approval of the Department Chair in lieu of these courses. 

Recommendations

Students are advised to take both of Statistical Inference (STAT 3338 ) and Statistical Methods I (STAT 5531 ) for basic knowledge in, respectively, statistical theory and application. Additionally, the content of the following math courses is helpful, but not required.

• Calculus III (MATH 2243 )
• Mathematical Structures (MATH 2332 )
