General Requirements (Core Areas A-E): 42 Credit Hours


Additional Requirements: 4 Credit Hours


Specific Requirements: 7 Credit Hours


  • Foreign Language - 2001 or higher OR International Content Course

Major Electives (No Certificate): 9 Credit Hours


Select three of the following elective courses:

In lieu of the general degree, students may choose a certificate in the following areas:

  • Broadband and Mobile Systems Certificate
  • Network and Computer Security Certificate
  • Game Programming
  • Software Engineering Certificate
  • Big Data and Analytics Certificate

  • Carryover from Area A2 and Area F
  • Select 6 credit hours of General Electives

1 While MATH 2242 Calculus II  is 4 credit hours, only 3 credit hours will count toward fulfilling Area F. The remaining credit hour will be applied toward Electives.

In addition to completing the course requirements for a certificate, in order to receive a certificate, it is necessary to complete the B.S. in Computer Sciences degree program. Students can earn certificates in one or more of the following areas by completing the course requirements shown below:

Other Program Requirements


  • In addition to completing the course requirements for a certificate, in order to receive a certificate, it is necessary to complete the B.S. in Computer Sciences degree program.
  • A minimum grade of “C” is required for each CSCI course taken in the major. This applies to all courses (lower and upper division).

Advisement


Undergraduate Academic Advisement at Georgia Southern is provided to all degree-seeking undergraduate students by professional advisors. Academic Advisors are located on all three Georgia Southern University campuses. Students are required to meet with their assigned Academic Advisor at least once a semester.
