Internships

Some graduate programs (in addition to initial teacher certification programs) require extensive field experience through internships or practicums as a program requirement.  While the process will vary by program, students should coordinate with their advisor to arrange the internship/practicum experience in cooperation with local school systems/agencies and, if necessary, the Office of Field Experience and Clinical Practice.  Students who are required to participate in internships, practicums, or other field experiences as part of their graduate program may be required to complete a criminal background check.  Students will complete the background check during the application for program admission if required by the program, or prior to the specific field experience as directed by the instructor. Background checks are valid for two years.
