MSED 8333 - Readings and Research in the Content Areas (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 This course provides opportunities for students to analyze current research in their certification/content field and grade levels in relation to classroom practice. More specifically students will explore current trends and issues in teaching and learning in the disciplines through intensive reading of scholarly and practitioner journals. Students will select one issue, review current literature that addresses this issue and write a review that summarizes findings from this research and implications for their classroom practice. Issues addressed in the course may include topics such as teaching English Language Learners in content area classrooms, using Web 2.0 technologies effectively and role of discussion in learning content.
