HIST 5253G - Archival Studies (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Introduction to the archivist as a professional and to the role of archives in society. Survey of the documentary materials and of the principles and practices involved in their acquisition, cataloging, care, and retrieval in public and private facilities also included. Graduate students will be required to complete additional assignments beyond the scope of the undergraduate requirements that demonstrate a level of mastery of the subject matter appropriate to graduate level work, as determined by the instructor.
