GEOL 5131G - Economic Mineralogy (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 This course provides an introduction to the origin and application of metallic and industrial mineral resources. Geologic setting, resource exploration, mining methods and environmental impacts are examined. Lecture and laboratory activities are integrated in the course and supplemental activities include field trips to active and inactive mines. Graduate students must complete a paper on an assigned topic.
