Emphasis will be placed on the effect of histone modification and DNA methylation on phenotype and genome function. The ramifications of molecular epigenetic mechanisms on ecology, evolution, and human health will be discussed. Graduate students will complete assignments beyond the scope of the undergraduate requirements. These assignments require higher-level mastery of the subject matter and additional deliverables representative of graduate-level work, as determined by the instructor.
