BIOL 5333G - Emerging Diseases (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Study of the epidemiology of emerging and re-emerging human diseases throughout the world, but with emphasis on the situation in North America. New and resurging diseases caused by prions, viruses, bacteria, protozoa, fungi, arthropods, and helminths will be discussed, including some vector-borne and tropical diseases. Graduate students will complete assignments beyond the scope of the undergraduate requirements. These assignments require higher-level mastery of the subject matter and additional deliverable representative of graduate-level work, as determined by the instructor.
