BIOL 4450 - Human Embryology (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Topics will include development of the male and female reproductive systems and gamete formation, the process of fertilization, implantation, and the formation of the placenta. Development of the germ cell layers and subsequent development of the major organ systems will be covered with emphasis on the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, urogenital system, limb formation, and neurologic system. The most common pediatric congenital defects associated with these systems will also be discussed and clinical examples provided.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 3131 and BIOL 3133 and BIOL 3134 .
