ARTH 7234 - Baroque and Rococo Art (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 This course will address the visual arts of the Baroque and Rococo periods in both Northern and Southern Europe. The class will primarily cover painting, and sculpture, with the inclusion of some architectural works. The course will begin by establishing the artistic traditions of the Late Renaissance era to lay the groundwork for the revised aesthetic and innovations of the Baroque, and go on to examine further shifts in style as we move into the Rococo. The class will be held in a lecture format with images projected during lecture for a combination of visual and verbal information.
