BIOL 5570 - Stream Ecology (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Advanced study of the structural (physical and biological) and functional (energy and nutrients) characteristics of stream and river habitats. Students will explore topics including watershed, litter processing, food webs, nutrient spiraling, ecosystem metabolism, the river continuum concept, and the flood pulse concept.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of “C” in BIOL 3131 , BIOL 3133 , and BIOL 3134 . Cross Listing(s): BIOL 5570G .
