MATH 5236 - Patterns of Problem Solving (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 A study of patterns involved in solving problems. Particular attention is paid to Polya’s heuristics and his characterization of the problem solving process. The student will also solve many problems. The application of these techniques by mathematics teachers will be stressed.
