TMAE 5131G - Essentials of Applied Mechanical Engineering (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 This is a course for students with no mechanical engineering experience. The principles of engineering mechanics are developed from a work/ energy point of view. Survey topics include a review of the fundamentals of mechanics, elastic behavior of materials, stress-strain relationships and measurements, elasticity theory, stability, dynamics, and vibration theory. Graduate students will be required to complete a case study or other individualized advanced activity that undergraduate students will not be required to complete.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of department (should not be taken by graduate students with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering). Cross Listing(s): TMAE 5131 . Restriction(s): NO Undergraduate Level Students
