TMAE 5131 - Essentials of Applied Mechanical Engineering (3 Credit Hours) Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3 This is a course for students with no mechanical engineering experience. The principles of engineering mechanics are developed from a work/energy point of view. Survey topics include a review of the fundamentals of mechanics, elastic behavior of materials, stress-strain relationships and measurements, elasticity theory, stability, dynamics, and vibration theory.
